On Sunday, September 26th, 2021, a solemn Mass of Thanksgiving on the centenary of the official recognition by the Church of the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel took place at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica in London. The Eucharist was presided by the Ordinary of the Diocese of London, Most Rev. Ronald P. Fabbro, CSB, and the homilist was Most Rev. Joseph Dabrowski, CSMA, Auxiliary Bishop of London.
The temple was filled with the gathered priests along with the representatives of the faithful from Michaelite parishes from the Diocese of London and the Archdioceses of Toronto and Detroit. In his sermon, Bishop Dąbrowski presented the life’s journey of Founding Father of the Michaelites and drew attention to the timelessness of the vision of Bl. Markiewicz.
Celebration of the Centenary of the Congregation was an opportunity to honor people and institutions close to the Michaelite Fathers in Canada with the Benemerenti medal of the Congregations of Saint Michael the Archangel. The award was presented to the Ordinary of the Diocese of London, Bp. Ronald Piotr Fabbro and the Domestic Church Community in Canada.
Despite pandemic restrictions the celebration of the centenary of the Congregation was an occasion for a joyful meeting of the Michaelite family.
